Bakery & Cakes
Having your cake and eating it too! Wedding cakes can be a traditional work of art or a functional sheet cake that treats the wedding guests. Choosing a wedding cake can be as easy as attending someone’s wedding reception, seeing a great looking cake and saying “That’s exactly what I want.” You might look at pictures of cakes that are promoted at bakeries, bridal fairs, or in magazines. When choosing who will make your wedding cake, make sure you have personally experienced or tasted the cake, either at a wedding reception or at the makers place of business. We also recommend you get references and check them out.
Consider these tips: 1) Always order enough cake to serve all of your guests. Less elaborate sheet cakes, in addition to your wedding cake, will assure adequate cake to serve all of your guests. 2) Make sure that the cake cutters know the proper procedure for cutting a cake, and that a perfect piece should be approximately 2” x 3”. 3) It is customary that the top of the wedding cake be saved for your first anniversary.
